DSA Foundation

To date the Durham School of the Arts Foundation has succeeded in raising approximately $100,000 from the generous contributions of parents, guardians, alumni, friends, local businesses and others.  This support has enabled the Foundation to make a number of improvements to the school, including:

  • Sound system in Weaver Auditorium

  • Portable acoustic panels to enhance choral and instrumental performances in Weaver

  • Installation of basic theater lighting system in Weaver

  • Repainting and replacement of acoustic tiles in Weaver

  • New risers for instrumental and choral performances in Weaver

  • A cyclorama, or stage backdrop, for dance performances

  • Back stage renovations, including painting and carpeting

  • Hall display cases for visual art in main building

  • Sink for clay classroom in the Carr Building

  • Purchase of intercom system to use in all performance venues

  • Forsythe Lounge renovation

  • Ten iMac computers with design software for the computer lab

  • For the pottery studio: a second kiln, a pug mill, and a digital camera
